• Responsible for approving or denying medical billing claims. Checking for errors in medical coding or
inconsistencies in a patient’s diagnosis and what they are being billed for.
• Audits payment determination, reconsiderations, and re-reviews on Medical Bill Data.
• Compares data entered with source documents, or re-enters data in verification format on screen to detect errors.
• Analyzes medical reports to determine proper payment or reimbursement.
• Work to identify cost-saving opportunities by detecting duplicate charges, overpayments, or unnecessary services.
• Communicates and upholds the basis for the methodology used to accomplish the reduction of charges.
