My first official job was being the bookkeeper then assistant accountant of our local bank. I was tasked to prepare the daily trial balance of the bank. Then I went to teaching accounting, tax, computer and management subjects at different colleges and universities for almost 25 years. I have worked as an accountant of several local and multinational manufacturing firms preparing financial statements for reporting and payment of statutory tax to the government. At one instance, I was able to install and implement an automated accounting system in one multinational company replacing the manual bookkeeping, authorized and approved by the Bureau of Internal Revenue of the Philippine government providing real time financial reports for the management. I have been a Senior Finance Specialist in an energy sector/agency of the Philippine government. My tasks were to review budget proposals and utilizations for approval, prepare internal revenue reports based on financial statements for filing and payment of taxes and prepare analytical reports that would improve procedures and systems for the section's operation. In this regard, I was able to come up with a system analysis and design of a budget system, prepare and implement the program in just six (6) months. It was implemented corporate wide.
In summary, my specialization includes bookkeeping, financial statements analysis, local tax implementation, and system analysis and design, especially data structure analysis and design.
