I am a respiratory therapist who provides care for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. I work with doctors and nurses to assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory conditions. I use various equipment and techniques to improve lung function and health. I also educate patients and families about respiratory diseases and prevention. Some of my responsibilities include:
- Performing pulmonary function tests and other diagnostic procedures
- Developing and implementing treatment plans with physicians
- Administering respiratory therapy and medications
- Operating and maintaining ventilators and other devices
- Providing emergency care and life support when needed
