As an IMDS (International Material Data System) Specialist, I am dedicated to ensuring the integrity and compliance of material data within the automotive supply chain. My role centers on data validation, data creation, and effective communication with suppliers to maintain high environmental compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1.) Data Validation: Thoroughly review and verify material data submissions for accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. This involves cross-checking information against industry standards and internal guidelines to ensure all data is reliable and up to date.
2.) Data Creation: Generate and input new material data entries in the IMDS, including detailed descriptions, material compositions, and relevant safety information. This process requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure comprehensive documentation of all materials used in our products.
3.) Data Collection with Suppliers: Collaborate closely with suppliers to collect necessary material data, providing clear instructions and support to facilitate accurate and timely submissions. I act as a point of contact, addressing any queries or issues suppliers may encounter during the data collection process.
4.) Compliance Monitoring: Keep abreast of changes in environmental regulations and industry standards to ensure that all material data remains compliant. I actively participate in audits and assessments to identify potential gaps and implement corrective actions.
By focusing on these key areas, I contribute to a sustainable approach to material management, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
