I am a Certified Medical Virtual Assistant and HIPAA Certified. I am also a Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist and ASCPi certified with 13 years of experience in the field. I obtained my license in 2013 and quickly assumed the role of head of the micro biology section in a tertiary hospital in the Philippines for more than 4 years.
Following my tenure there, I ventured to Dubai for 5 years, and took the responsibilities of a trainer and supervisor during the COVID-19 pandemic at a prominent hospital and clinic in Dubai.
I also have a year of experience as a medical scribe, where I excelled in my role as a substitute team leader, Point of Contact (POC), and Subject Matter Expert (SME).
I was recognized as the top scribe for one of our providers, receiving praise for the quality of my notes. Additionally, I was also the top 1 VA during our training in MedVA in Medical Scribe.
I have also received advance training as a Dental VA at MedVA and was also the top 1 dental VA during the training. I am proficient in using DENTRIX software. We went through scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, processing insurance claims, and offering top-notch customer service to patients.
As a medical virtual assistant, I’m well-trained in handling medical records, scheduling, and maintaining confidentiality. Whether it’s managing patient inquiries, transcribing medical notes, or coordinating telehealth appointments.
Previous US-Base Client Experience:
Previously, I handled a mix of administrative and patient support tasks in a fast-paced setting. A big part of my role was managing both inbound and outbound calls—helping patients with scheduling, follow-ups, medication concerns, and lab results.
I regularly scheduled, rescheduled, and canceled appointments, while also coordinating closely with providers to manage their availability. I worked a lot inside eClinicalWorks, where I updated patient demographics and maintained accurate patient charts.
I also downloaded patient lab and imaging results from online portals and uploaded them into their charts, making sure everything was complete and up to date before appointments. I communicated with labs like LabCorp and Quest, as well as pharmacies, especially for follow-ups and medication refills with provider approval.
On top of that, I handled faxing lab orders and medical records, and managed messages and emails through Birdeye.
One task I was responsible for was preparing the provider’s schedule ahead of time. I would review upcoming appointments, check if patients had completed required labs or imaging, and call them if anything was missing—either to remind them or help reschedule. This helped keep the clinic running smoothly and avoided delays.
I also assisted with documentation tasks like uploading billing-related paperwork and updating charts for MIPS.
The role really strengthened my ability to multitask, stay organized, and communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare providers in a busy environment.
