Hi, I’m Michelle Paras. I’ve been working as an auditor since I graduated from college in June 2022, and I landed my first job opportunity at MGM & Company. During my first year, I was assigned as an internal auditor, where I enhanced my technical skills. I was exposed to different systems and training programs, and I handled various branches with high volumes of transactions daily, which developed my attention to detail.
After a year, I transitioned to the role of an external auditor. This position broadened my horizons, challenged my analytical and critical thinking, and exposed me to more complex accounts and industries. I collaborated with teams, maximized resources, and gained a comprehensive understanding of audit engagements, ensuring that clients comply with regulatory standards.
I’ve enjoyed working across different fields, including accounting engagements, tax preparation, and recording transactions in QuickBooks. The diverse knowledge I’ve gained from each engagement has contributed significantly to my growth as a professional. This year, I was promoted to Senior Auditor, and I’m incredibly grateful for the trust placed in me, recognizing my potential and giving me more opportunities to continue growing.
