I'd be happy to share. I've been with BPO industry for 10 years with the different kind of settings. I worked in the healthcare industry for almost 5 years, where I gained experience in both customer service and administrative tasks. Recently, on my previous role - I was an Assistant to Compliance team, where I Collect and review patient demographic information, medical history, current health concerns, and any other relevant details. I Support compliance audits and internal reviews as well, we do intake reviews as well. Over-all my role is to ensure all required forms and consents are completed accurately and in compliance with healthcare regulations.
After 7 months, I was transferred for the role of Assistant to Reimbursement Team, In this position, I had the opportunity to work closely with patients, insurance companies (such as Anthem, BCBS, most of the Medicaid), and internal teams. One of my key responsibilities was managing the claims process, including addressing claims denials, partial payments, and discrepancies. I was also involved in the medical billing process, ensuring claims were submitted accurately and following up with third-party payers to resolve any payment issues.
Additionally, I have experience or knew the healthcare coding system such as ICD-10, CPT and HCPS
I also have extensive experience with data entry, handling patient records, and using healthcare-specific software such as Advance MD, Availity, Central Reach Waystar.
Time management was key in my role, especially as I balanced handling patient inquiries, submitting claims, and following up on outstanding issues. I regularly communicated with insurance providers and patients, ensuring that any issues were addressed promptly. My strong communication skills allowed me to follow up effectively and ensure a seamless experience for everyone involved.
