Hi, my name is Hazel, I'm a Licensed Pharmacist and also I’m a Certified Professional Coder with over six years of experience in the healthcare industry. I also have a Medical Billing experience handling denial claims and checking insurance verification/eligibility with insurance companies like Medicare, BCBS, UHC, Cigna, and Humana.
Most recently, I worked at Optum Global Solutions as a Licensed Medical Coder and QA Subject Matter Expert, where I handled complex coding cases using ICD and CPT codes, conducted audits, and worked closely with providers to ensure accurate and compliant documentation. Prior to that, I was with Lexicode Healthcare, where I gained valuable experience in end-to-end coding and chart review.
I’m also a Licensed Pharmacist, which has given me a solid clinical foundation that helps me better understand medical records and improve coding accuracy.
