As a public health physician by training, I am driven by work that reduces health inequity especially in low-to-middle-income countries.
My first foray into public health was as a primary care physician for persons with HIV. This role helped me understand how incremental developments in health leadership and governance
shaped health outcomes in marginalised communities in the Philippines. This inspired me to study international health, initially with a track for health systems strengthening, until I transitioned to health promotion and tobacco control which have defined the last five years of my career.
In my free time, I like to learning about Linux and QGIS. As a non-developer, and I am interested how these tools are being used to inform planning and policy priorities for public health.
