Over the past years, I have continuously developed and strengthened my administrative and healthcare support skills with Interior Health.
As a Medical Office Assistant, I provide administrative and clinical support in an urgent primary care center by managing patient registration, scheduling, communications, billing, and records. I assist with patient care by preparing exam rooms, supporting procedures, taking routine vitals, and maintaining medical supplies and equipment – while ensuring proper cleaning, sterilization, and safe handling of materials.
In my role as a Health Information Processing Clerk, I prepared a wide range of technical and non-technical documents for managers and physicians. This includes memos, correspondence, and medical reports – using drafts, revisions, and dictation. During department and committee meetings, I am tasked to take and transcribe minutes. Additionally, I conducted quantitative analysis ensuring accuracy and integrity of patient records through retrieving, matching, and verifying data. As part of quality assurance processes, I managed an electronic tracking system for deficient patient charts by issuing notifications to physicians, monitoring compliance, and updating records once deficiencies were resolved.
As a Biomedical Support Clerk, I provided comprehensive administrative assistance to managers and supervisors. My responsibilities included – maintaining and updating department’s computerized database by verifying accuracy, completeness of equipment and parts records; entering and tracking data; identifying and correcting discrepancies within the support charge process. I also supported departmental operations by – coordinating meetings, recording, transcribing, and distributing minutes. Aside from that, I assist Biomedical Technologists with travel arrangements, training logistics, including bookings and flight coordination.
