I'm an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines Manila (UP Manila) in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, College of Public Health. The UP Manila College of Public Health is recognized as the SEAMEO TROPMED Philippines, the Regional Centre for Public Health, Hospital Administration, Environmental and Occupational Health.
Before this, I was an Associate Medical Manager at Labcorp Drug Development. I used my nursing background and expertise in occupational health to review cases involving new pharmaceuticals and chemicals. Throughout my five-year tenure, I assessed adverse events' severity, causality, and coding while providing feedback and guidance to the case processing team. My tasks also included peer-based quality control activities and implementing conventions from client medical reviewers.
As a seasonal resource speaker and preceptor for the Occupational Health Nurses Association of the Philippines (OHNAP), I have the privilege of sharing my expertise on outbreak investigation and data presentation within occupational health and safety. This role is a testament to my commitment to knowledge sharing and professional development.
In addition to my academic and professional duties, I have more than five years of experience as a freelance content writer. I create content about public health, occupational health, and medical topics. My strength is simplifying complex medical information into easily understandable content, ensuring that my readers gain valuable insights into health and safety issues.
My commitment to advancing worker health, safety, and public health is unwavering. With a Master’s degree in Occupational Health from the University of the Philippines Manila and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Trinity University of Asia, I am well-equipped to contribute to these crucial areas. I am always eager to learn and adopt new skills and methodologies, ensuring I can provide the best possible service in my field.
